These confetti eggs are a traditional Easter party item, but I think they would be perfect for New Years Eve! You’re meant to smash them over each other’s heads, so if you decide to use these you might want to have a less fancy bash or at least warn anyone who has copious amounts of gel or hairspray in their hair, or anyone who spent the day at the salon getting their hair done. That’s for guys and girls! Or you could go for something else inside the eggs, like confetti (though that might be hard to get out of hair too!)
I could just see this happening during “Massive Nights”
The Hold Steady crush New York City from this West 4th Street rooftop, busting out the hits from their brand new album Stay Positive. And yup, if you’re wondering, the gong actually does get used.
It’s not often that I shamelessly promote…well…anything. But I have to get this out there. One more day to pledge to Franz and help him get the essential cashmoney he needs to put out a new album and be able to sustain himself at the same time. This man, who used to catch his sleep on the roof of Northsix, then rented an apartment with no windows (albeit he was often on tour)…well, let’s just say he’s paid his dues. Best of all, he writes heartbreakingly beautiful songs, and has the right voice to deliver those sentiments.
It would make me so happy to see him reach this goal. We’ve made tracks in the past two days, but the next day will make all the difference.
Five years ago today, “Boys and Girls in America” was released on Vagrant Records. It pretty much goes without saying that no record has ever had as much of an impact on the direction of my life as this one.
